Looking Forward to This Week-End!

District Convention!

Our congregation is invited along with many San Diego and Yuma congregations to gather at Qualcomm Stadium for a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. This year is extra special in that San Diego Congregations are hosting an International Convention. What a fine opportunity we have in worshipping Jehovah unitedly with brothers and sisters from other lands. Delegates will arrive today from Britain, Trinidad, Tongo, Mexico, Chile, Korea & Australia. All these delegates will be cared for by the hospitality of their hosts.

This year our convention theme is: "Keep On The Watch" -Matthew 24:42

Each day will have a theme.

Friday's Theme is: "Prove Yourselves Ready" -Matthew 24:44
Friday morning we will consider how Moses, Noah, and Jeremiah remained watchful in a symposium entitled, "Imitate Faithful Ones Who Remained Watchful". Friday afternoon families will be encouraged with "'Stay Awake' as Christian Families!"

Saturday's Theme"Keep Your Senses, Be Watchful" -1 Peter 5:8
Saturday morning we will receive encouragement to help others. Then in the afternoon we will hear encouraging talks regarding "Watch Out for Satan's Traps"

Sunday's Theme "Keep in Expectation...It Will Not Be Late." -Habakkuk 2:3
We will be built up spiritually with the symposium "Keep Your Eyes on the Things Unseen" the subjects covered will be: "The Ten Horns...Will Hate the Harlot,"- Rev 17:16 "The Nations Will Have to Acknowledge Jehovah," "All These Nations Will Be Crushed," "The Devil Will Be Bound For a Thousand Years", "They will Build Houses and Plant Vineyards." "The Wolf and the Lamb...Will Feed as One," "God Will Wipe Out Every Tear," "All Those in the Memorial Tombs.. Will Come Out," and "God Will Be 'All Things to Everyone'."
To complete the morning session the public talk entitled: "How Can You Survive the End of the World?" In the afternoon we will have a modern-day drama "Your Brother Was Dead and Came to Life," based on Jesus' parable of the prodigal son.

Yes, we are in for a spiritual feast! But not just us! All these sessions are open to the public, in fact we have had a special campaign inviting our neighbors to come also. This program is prepared for all around the world. In Utah, you may hear these sessions in Ogden at the Dee Events Center, 4450 S. Harrison Blvd., July 3-5. For those of you in Arizona, this same program will be available to you in Tucson, Convention Center, 260 S. Church Street. July 24-26 or you may attend on July 31-Aug. 3. These sessions will begin at 9:20am. If you are able to attend some of the sessions I am sure you will not regret it. (Be sure to bring your Bible) May we always as Jesus instructed, "Keep On the Watch!"

Sounds like all good things.
Is it televised at all?

No, It is not televised because part of the education is being with our brothers and sisters, getting to know them personally, growing together in love and unity is part of our worship.

Sounds like it will be time well spent and we all need to be on the watch. Thank goodness for prophets who stand upon the watchtowers for our safety and happiness.
