Children's artist -Walter Crane

Little Red Riding Hood.

Sing a Song of six pence!

The Frog Prince

Princess Belle-Etoile

I had never heard of this fairy-tale so I looked it up.
If you want, you may find this story at the link below.

http://www.oldbookart.com/2008/11/16/princess-belle-etoile/

I enjoy the detail in these illustrations and I appreciate that it was for children to enjoy. To me, it is important that we recognize that even children can appreciate fine art. As adults we should not dumb down education to children, but rather expose them to all things good even if it appears to be over their heads. All people learn at their own rate.

I Should Have Been an Architect! -Part 1

My Sugar Sister sent me:

Bizarre Architecture from around the world!

I have definitely enjoyed these and thought I would share them. This first one is: "Forest Spiral- Hundertwasser Building" it is in GERMANY. I would never have guessed that. I thought it looked more eastern in its shape and color.

Wonderworks in Orlando Florida.

Who would think of an upside down building? And more importantly, who has the money to spend on this? Anyway, it is interesting and it must be safe. It certainly looks like a hurricane hit it, if that in fact is the look the architect was going for! Love the humor in this, it just makes you smile!

architects are wild!

Later, I will share some apartment buildings that are extremely different. For now I'm off and running!

Jesus Is Granted Kingdom Authority!

Have you ever wondered, "where are we in the stream of time?"

A careful study of Bible prophecies, especially, the prophets, Daniel and Ezekiel regarding the last days reveal that "the Lord's day" began in 1914. That was when Jesus returned invisibly, without fanfare. In that year Jehovah gave Jesus the command to "go subduing in the midst of his enemies" -Ps 110:1, 2.

Jesus begins his Kingdom rule first by throwing Satan and his demons out of heaven. "Be glad you heavens and you who reside in them"-Rev 12:12a

The heavens rejoice! They no longer have to put up with the tauntings of Satan and his supporters.

The scripture goes on to state: "Woe to the the Earth!"

Why? "because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time." -Rev 12:12b

In veiw of this scripture, it is important to remember this fact:
The start of the rule of God's Kingdom government does not mean immediate peace and security on earth.

Abundant peace on earth will come later, when God's Kingdom by Christ Jesus, takes full control of the earth at the end of the "short period of time"

Jesus, himself gave a visible composite sign, so his followers could discern his invisible presence in kingdom power. Please read: Matt 24:3-14 and Luke 21:7-11.
Compare: 2Tim 3:1-3

When we look at the world around us, can we see with our eyes of understanding, the fulfillment of Jesus prophetic words regarding the "last days?" Can you feel Satan's influence in regard to the crime, corruption, injustice, and starvation so prevalent in our world? Yes, Satan is angry, because his "time is short." Satan knows that by Jesus' faithful death and his glorious resurrection, that all his works are broken. Please read 1 John 3:8 in your own Bible.

Obediently Waiting in Jerusalem-

The apostles enter Jerusalem once again. They remain there in obedience to Jesus' command. Then, at the Jewish Festival of Pentecost 33 CE, while about 120 of the disciples assemble in an upper room in Jerusalem, a noise just like that of a rushing stiff breeze suddenly fills the whole house. Tongues as if of fire become visible, and one sits upon each of those present, and the disciples all begin to speak in different languages. This is the outpouring of the holy spirit that Jesus had promised! This pouring out of holy spirit is evidence that Jesus has arrived back in heaven. These first Christians, are anointed with holy spirit. (Remember, Jesus at his baptism was anointed with holy spirit, when in a form of a dove, holy spirit rested upon him.)

Many people in Jerusalem hear the noise and they come to see what is happening. Some of the people are from other nations who have come for the Israelite feast of Pentecost. They hear the disciples speaking in their own languages about the wonderful things that God has done. The visitors recognize that the disciples are from Galilee and ask, "How is it, that they are able to speak in these different languages that belong to the countries where we come from?." -Acts 2:1-13

Peter now explains in this inspiring discourse, please read his faith strengthening answer to the people at: -Acts 2:14-47

Later, just before Stephen is stoned for his faithful witnessing, he is granted a vision, Stephen exclaims: "Look! I behold the heaven opened up and the Son of man standing at God's right hand."- Acts 7:55, 56.

While at God's right hand, Jesus awaits the command from his Father: "Go subduing in the midst of your enemies."-Ps 110:1, 2.

In the meantime, Jesus rules or reigns, over his anointed disciples, from heaven, guiding them in their preaching activity and preparing them to become, by resurrection, associate kings with him in his Father's Kingdom.

One example of Jesus' guidance and the preparation of those chosen, is the conversion of Saul, who is zealous for God's Law, yet is misguided by Jewish religious leaders. With Jesus' backing, Saul (known now as Paul) and other evangelizers have tremendous success in their work of preaching and teaching. -Acts 9:1-19; 16:6-10

Another example, after the passing of many more years, Jesus provides a series of visions to the apostle John. In this vision John says that "by means of inspiration," he was transported forward in time to "the Lord's day." What is this "day"? -Revelation 1:1, 10.

Since his ressurrection Jesus has been busy in the heavens building up this promised kingdom. Yes he truly is " the seed that was bruised in the heel" Next that seed will bruise the serpent in the head, a deadly blow! -Genesis 3:15.

In view of that, should we be concerned with the prophecy, Jesus the head of the Christian congregation, provided to the apostle John?

Jesus Ascends to Heaven!-

You may read Jesus' words at: Matthew 28:16-20;
Luke 24:49-52.

And the eyewitness report at: Acts 1:3-11.

The disciples and apostles wait in Jerusalem as instructed by Jesus! What exciting, awe inspiring things happen next!

Jesus -Risen from the Dead

What a Bright Day! ...sheer Joy!

Matthew 28:2-4,11-15

Luke 24:1-7; (Compare: Matthew 28:1, 5-10)

Luke 24:8-11; John 20:1, 2

John 20:3-10 (Compare: Luke 24:12)
Mary Magdalene stays at the tomb, after Peter and John leave.
John 20:11-18
There are other appearances to different disciples.
Luke 24:13-31 (Compare John 20:19-29)

Matthew 26:32, 28:7, 10, 16; John 21:1-25

Altogether, Jesus shows himself alive to his disciples for a period of 40 days following his resurrection. During these appearances he instructs them about the Kingdom of God, and he emphasizes what their responsibilities are as his disciples. While the apostles are still in Galilee, Jesus evidently instructs them to return to Jerusalem. He then gives them further information.
