Seven Children in a Boat.

By Kate Greenaway

I love this sketch because it reminds me of times when children could romp and play with relatively little danger. They knew how to take care of each other and have fun in the outdoors together. If you like this picture please share with me your reasons why.

It reminds me also of more carefree, safer times when you could go outside and let your imagination take you down a river or through the woods, and be home in time for dinner, with dirt on your hands and knees.

yes, it is reminiscent of a happy, carefree time, as stated. it's a lovely sketch and with 7 in the boat it reminds me much of your 7!

your side bar is full of great images and wonderful information- it reflects you, well.

Those times are not completely lost. I give my little ones a much freedom to play as I can. I've even been known to give one a walkie talkie (just in case) as they walk to the neighbors house while I hide behind trees and bushes making sure they get there alright.

They feel big and I feel safe. as I am about 10 feet away as they call over the walkie talkie-"I'm here."

There is also a big huge group of kids of all ages that head down to the park at the end of our street on a regular basis and yes, my olders get to go.
