Maksim Mrvica grew up in Croatia, amidst war. I read that his piano teacher had his piano in a bomb shelter. While bombs were dropping outside, Maksim and his teacher were in the bomb shelter with the piano and Maksim would practice, practice practice! I think of that when I hear him play "Croatian Rhapsody" Though I love all his music, this is my favorite.
I enjoyed the music. I haven't heard much about Croatians for a long time. When I was growing up in East Chicago, Indiana, I attended school with a lot of croatian kids. There fathers had come to work in the Inland Steel Mill. They put on big parties and wedding receptions-with music and dancing.
I am a working mother of seven young men, most of whom have flown the coop. My husband, who I love set up this blog for me so I could keep in touch with my Three Sisters. We share the best parents who we love to stay in touch with. (They love to receive pictures of my grandkids, best audience a person could ask for)My husband's mother and sister also, may enjoy a peak into my little life.I enjoy very much my extended family.
